Christ Jesus, Our Only Hope

Day 1

5When the LORD saw that human wickedness was widespread on the earth and that every inclination of the human mind was nothing but evil all the time,6the LORD regretted that he had made man on the earth, and he was deeply grieved.
GENESIS 6:5-6 (CSB)

Commentary

The days that Noah lived in were dark, the darkest this world has seen until the time of the end. We can sit and ponder what those days of Noah must’ve been like. But I tell you we can see them now; we are living in days that parallel that wickedness. We are living in the last days as the Bible describes.

We cannot bury our heads in the sand and pretend that this world, that our nations are all going to somehow make a U-turn back into the good graces of God. No nation that suppresses the Truth of Jesus, that pimps out children to the perversion of LGBTQ, that murders the preborn in the womb, deserves any blessing or protection from God.

I understand that it’s hard to watch, but this world is a sinking ship. There is no hope to be found in it. No man, woman, or child is going to rescue this already sinking Titanic of godlessness.

World events are increasingly shaping the stage for the coming last days, as written of in the Bible. With all the craziness in this world, it’s impossible to know what each new day will bring. This is why it’s so important to stay in God’s Word and to study the prophetic passages. In them, there is wisdom and knowledge that will help to strengthen your walk with Jesus and keep you from fearing what is already destined to come.

Soul Search

Do I think that decades of cultural wickedness are going to disappear one day soon, or am I realizing that I better hold on tighter to Jesus because the Bible warns us of the days ahead?

Prayer

Heavenly Father, Your Word gives us a very good picture, beyond a doubt, of where this world is headed. May I not make myself blind to this. Father, please guard my heart and my mind as I endure whatever time remains, attempting to share Jesus with those I can. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen

Day 2

37As the days of Noah were, so the coming of the Son of Man will be.38For in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day Noah boarded the ark.39They didn’t know until the flood came and swept them all away. This is the way the coming of the Son of Man will be.
MATTHEW 24:37-39 (CSB)

Commentary

So many people can’t fathom the idea that we’re rapidly approaching the end as we know it. There’s an unhealthy fear among many Christians because far too many pastors and Bible teachers skip over or allegorize the important and precious prophetic words of the Bible.

God did not give us this information to scare us, but to prepare us. There should be great comfort for all of us who love Jesus, because we will be spared the wrath of God that is coming.

As we see this world crumbling before our eyes, the fact that there still remains some normalcy can deceive those who are not carefully watching.

But just as in Noah’s time, the world will still be in “life as normal” mode, right until the very moment that God’s wrath begins to hit. I believe that the Bible clearly teaches that all born-again followers of Christ Jesus will be taken out of this world in an instant, and then God’s wrath will come, just as the flood waters rose after God closed the ark door, and never stopped rising until creation was destroyed.

That time of wrath will begin when Antichrist makes firm a covenant with Israel and others, then the destruction comes.

3When they say, “Peace and security,” then sudden destruction will come upon them, like labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.4But you, brothers and sisters, are not in the dark, for this day to surprise you like a thief.
1 THESSALONIANS 5:3-4 (CSB)

Soul Search

Can I see through the facade of this world, understanding world events for what they truly are, as God’s Word has told us?

Prayer

Heavenly Father, if I am one who is fearful of what is coming, then please shape me with understanding, work my heart and mind to where You want it to be. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen

Day 3

9“But you, be on your guard! They will hand you over to local courts, and you will be flogged in the synagogues. You will stand before governors and kings because of me, as a witness to them.10And it is necessary that the gospel be preached to all nations.11So when they arrest you and hand you over, don’t worry beforehand what you will say, but say whatever is given to you at that time, for it isn’t you speaking, but the Holy Spirit.12“Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child. Children will rise up against parents and have them put to death.
MARK 13:9-12 (CSB)

Commentary

This is what we are to be expecting in this span of time between Jesus’ ascension and His Second Coming.

Our brothers and sisters in Christ before us have experienced persecution; our brothers and sisters around the world experience persecution; and we too, who live in Western nations, will and are experiencing more and more persecution. This will only prove to get worse as the time nears.

Are we not seeing this today in Canada, the UK, the USA, Australia, etc.? Christians are being arrested in parts of the UK for silently praying across the street from so-called “women’s health” clinics. Trans-terrorism is springing up in the West against Christians, spewing hate and promoting violence, not unlike that of fundamental Muslims. It’s the same antichrist spirit fueling both. Many “elected” officials are promoting godless agendas, while also legislating against Bible-based faith in Jesus.

I’m not trying to scare you, but to prepare your mind for what you might face. Please make sure that your heart is focused on Jesus. You and I must be prepared for anything at this time. The increase of Christian persecution is just one of several indicators of the last-days season that we are living.

Am I spiritually and mentally prepared for whatever may happen?

Prayer

Heavenly Father, You have shown us Your pattern in Your Word for how You deal with godless nations. All the nations on this Earth are ripe for Your wrath, and it’s only a matter of time. Please settle my heart and mind, take away any anxiety I may have. I know that You have me in Your hand, and nothing created can take me from You. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen

Day 4

20Go, my people, enter your rooms and close your doors behind you. Hide for a little while until the wrath has passed.21For look, the LORD is coming from his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity. The earth will reveal the blood shed on it and will no longer conceal her slain.
ISAIAH 26:20-21 (CSB)

Commentary

Don’t think that the Democrats are coming to save us or the Republicans, liberals or conservatives; the right or the left. Nobody will be able to stop what God has already set in motion. If this is indeed the time of the end, we must embrace it as those who have the eyes and ears to see and hear. It’s our role to warn people, to help them come to Jesus before time runs out.

Because when that moment comes, when Jesus snatches His Church from this Earth, all hell on Earth will break out. But we will be with our Lord, safely in Heaven, away from His wrath. This is our blessed hope, the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ!

As the world becomes a tougher place to live as a believer, look to the everlasting light of hope that Jesus has prepared for you and me.

1“Don’t let your heart be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me.2In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you?3If I go away and prepare a place for you, I will come again and take you to myself, so that where I am you may be also.
JOHN 14:1-3 (CSB)

Soul Search

As any anxiety or fear creeps in, am I focusing on Jesus and His promise?

Prayer

Lord Jesus, thank You for taking God’s wrath upon Your own body, in my place. Thank You for the salvation that You have gifted to me, even though I don’t deserve it. Thank You for preparing a place for me to be while You pour out Your wrath on this deserving world. May my hope always be in You and You alone. In Your mighty name, I pray. Amen

Day 5

4He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. Death will be no more; grief, crying, and pain will be no more, because the previous things have passed away.
REVELATION 21:4 (CSB)

Commentary

God’s wrath must come upon this world because He must judge this world for its wickedness. I don’t find joy in that aspect, but there is eternal joy to be found in what comes after. The final state will be the eternal state of Heaven and Earth. It will be like it was when God placed Adam and Eve in the Garden before they sinned.

No more will we endure hardships, sickness, evil, or anything that harms. This has been God’s plan since the beginning, and we get to be a part of it if we endure in the faith.

You and I may have relatively good lives now, but what is promised to us as believers will be far, far better than anything we could have or experience in this age. Our only hope for eternity is found alone in Jesus. Grab on to Him, hold on, and seek Him every moment because as this world teeters closer and closer to the edge, He will keep you calm and at peace — focused on living for the awesome eternity that He has in store for you.

Soul Search

Is all my hope in Jesus alone?

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for the promises that You’ve made to all who love You. May I dwell on those in these times of chaos. Ignite a fire in me to study Your Word, so that nothing is a surprise to me, knowing that You have told us all that You’re going to do, ahead of time. Because You love us so very much. Thank You, Father. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen
