The Hour Is Late

The Bible teaches that in the last days there will be apostasy in the organized church. That many professing Christians will fall away, finding for themselves teachers who tickle their ears with things they want to hear, instead of God’s actual Word, and departing from the Truth, turning to doctrines of demons.

Brothers and sisters, we are in those days, and as John stated, many antichrists are out in this world, but the Antichrist is coming. Look, we don’t know when, but that time is closer than it’s ever been before. Jesus warned us to be ready for His return at any time. To be ready means to be trusting in Him alone. You should be excited by the fact that Jesus could come back for you at any time, without warning. In these troubling times, let that hope of Christ’s imminent return keep you at peace.

Commentary

Draw Nearer To Jesus

If you don’t really know Jesus as your Lord and Savior, then today is the day. Repent, ask Him to forgive your sins, and give your life to Him.

If you are a believer already, but maybe you’ve been unfocused or caught up in sins, then today is the day to repent and once again draw near to the Lord and walk in obedience. We’re going to need the Lord more than ever in the coming years. I’m not a prophet, and I don’t know what each day holds, but the signs are there that the end is approaching quicker than most people probably realize.

Whatever challenges you might have to face in the coming days, weeks, months, or years will require the strength of Jesus to help you through. This will be no time to go it alone. So get straight with God and walk in obedience to Him from this moment on.

Absorb God’s Word

The follower of Christ has always had to contend with temptation and persecution in some form; however, those things are becoming more frequent and intense in these last days. The world leaves a sort of film upon our minds, a filth that can penetrate and cause stumbling in sin if not dealt with in a timely manner. The world’s challenges to one’s faith can also cause confusion, stress, and anxiety.

This is why you must be in God’s Word daily. His Word is not only a guide for our walk but washes away the film of filth left on our minds by this world and its ungodly things. God’s Word gives you direction and understanding for how to live according to God’s will for your life — a filter for all the noise of this life.

I’ve heard an acronym that I really like. I’m not sure who originally came up with this, but it’s B.I.B.L.E., Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth. I love it! I think it’s not only creative but absolutely true for the follower of Christ Jesus. Follow God’s Word, and your walk with Him will be more complete, and the answers to life’s questions more clear, as the Lord is preparing you for His Kingdom.

Be In A State of Constant Prayer

Prayer isn’t just getting down to your knees, bowing your head, and closing your eyes; it’s constant communication with our Creator. There should be no substantial decision made in your life without first seeking the Lord in prayer. In my own walk, I’m constantly talking to the Lord. I might be working or walking the dog, even driving, and my eyes are open. I’m focused on the task at hand, but in my spirit, I am asking the Lord for guidance, calm, or thanking Him for something in that moment.

As a follower of Christ, we have a true personal relationship with our God that no one else can have without faith. There doesn’t need to be rigidity in our communication with Him, and in the times we’re in, we need to be in close communication with Him all day, every day.

As you walk with the Lord and seek to do His will, ask Him for anything that you might need in order to bring glory to Him. Perhaps strength to overcome temptation, joy to overcome fear, wisdom to avoid danger, or humility and confidence to set aside yourself in order to share the Gospel with someone.

Commentary

Share Jesus With Everyone

The convergence of events that Jesus said would point to the time of the end is increasing day by day. There seems to be little time left, and at any moment, Jesus could descend with the shout of the archangel and the trumpet of God, collecting His remnant Church from this earth.

If that were to happen in 5 minutes from now or 5 days from now, who in your life would be left behind to face the Tribulation period? Do you want them to be in Heaven with you? Don’t waste another moment; make sure you’re witnessing to them in love and praying for their salvation. This is our primary and most important mission as believers. We must be sharing Jesus with people, especially in these last days, as more and more are wondering why things are the way they are.

I don’t wish to fear-monger, but the reality is, this world is never going back to the way it was before Spring 2020. It’s forever changed, and all signs are aligning with what the Bible says will take place as the time of the Lord’s return draws closer. Now go out and plant, water, and harvest souls as the Lord directs you.
